How Follow-Me started
Founded in the Netherlands by Gary Yates and Erik Berends, Follow‑Me builds on over 25 years of collective industry expertise and advanced product development.
It all began in 2013 when British band Suede, through lighting director Jip Nipius, asked for a cost‑effective, flexible follow‑spot solution. Rising to the challenge, our founders crafted the first Follow‑Me system. The system enabled moving-head lights to remotely track the lead singer, igniting a revolution in live performance technology.
Since then, Follow-Me has evolved beyond that original innovation.

Today, we manufacturer manual and automated performer tracking systems for lighting, image and immersive audio for entertainment industry.
Our versatile system lineup includes Follow‑Me 3D, which supports manual performer tracking with seamless multi-fixture control, and Follow‑Me TRACK‑iT, offering scalable multi-performer automatic tracking with camera-based feedback, all powered by our own purpose-built systems.
Our solutions are trusted across a wide range of productions, from international tours and TV broadcasts to theatrical performances and theme parks. Follow‑Me systems have become the standard for many Light Designers and Light Technicians. The systems are used as a fixed asset in a venue or as the Perfomer Tracking solution during a Tour.
